I Smell CupCakes

Many of you have been asking about the cupcakes since I mentioned about CupCake KAL last month. We dint post it out yet because we wanna make sure all members received thier Cupcakes first before posting them.

I have done a total of 9 of them excluding the 2 trial and ...
TA DAH!!!
Chocolate Vanilla? Marshmellow or Chocolate with Banana? Any one of the cupcakes caught your eyes? :D
and more...
The final decor before sending them out...

As for the swap, i received 3 lovely Cupcakes from Windloop, I was speechless when I opened the parcel last week! They are just so sweet! Tthe cupcakes were placed nicely in a rosey box with some organza... look at the the hand made tag! Now, they are my new love! Thanks alot girl.Last but not least, I really enjoyed this Cupcake KAL + Swap, it was a success and I hope that the recipients of my cupcakes are happy with them, as for myself, these 3 little ones really brightened up my day~
Oh, on the swapping day, Jollin bought for us a real cupcake each! it was lovely and tasty, each of us received a lovely knitted cupcake from Yun too, I will upload the photos to show u girls...Thanks buddies

Ribbed Hat

I started this winter hat 2 weeks ago but was put on hold due to the Cupcake KAL. Now, the Cupcake KAL is done and I picked up this winter hat from the basket again last weekend.

All these pictures were modeled by my handsome HB :D

Pattern: Cashmere Ribbed Hat
Materials: Cleckheaton Country 12 ply 100% Pure Wool , Sirdar Denim Tweed DK
Amount: 3.25 balls x 50g/71m ,10g
Needles: 5.0mm

I followed the pattern to CO 96 sts, continue until piece measures 11" from begining then I started decreasing. It does turn out slightly longer but I guess it is good to cover the ears for winter. Sirdar Denim Tweed DK was used to create the blue line.

It is done now and I am one step closer to our winter honeymoon! Yeah Yeah!

Ron's Scarf

I have been busy working on winter projects, cos we are going to Hokkaido for our honeymoon in December! Very looking forward.Yeah Yeah!!!

Since my HB dont want me to knit any sweater for him(well I guess he knows I am having too many wips :P), but I decided to knit him at least a scarf and a hat.

Done this last week, I like the un-block version of this scarf, the pattern are actually from those stitch pattern book and since the stitch pattern was choosen by my HB, so I named it Ron's Scarf!Hmm...The scarf really turn out very nice though!

Size : 8" x 74"
Yarns : 7.5 ball x Cleckheaton Country 12 ply
Needle size : 5.5mm Inox

Oh while I am still having my HOT CupCake-KAL fever, my friend made me these mini CupCake!!! Very tiny Pandan CupCake in green with coconut! very yummy! CupCake GO GO GO!

CupCake KAL

"We" were so infected by the cupcake virus this week and "We" decided to have a Cupcake KAL!

The infected members are WindLoop, Yun, Jollin and myself. We set the completion date of the KAL by the 30th Sept and will swap with each other!yeah yeah!!!

So I tried my first attempt on wednesday, it was not successful, my HB said it looks more like a mushroom than anything! hahaha...
The Mushroom cupcake

I modified the second trial by reducing the icing sts, it is still not up to my standard yet but, well, at least it looks more like a cupcake now!

Cupcake Go Go Go!!!

Yesterday was my BD, DD brought me for a romantic dinner at Ma Maison, they served really good western japanese food.

and now, I proudly show off all my BD presents. I have to admit I was touched and speechless while opening them!
I received 2 hanks of Lorna's Hand-Dyed Yarns from the lovely Windloop, this is my first time owning these yarns, the verigated in blue and light green shade turn out to be a really nice and refreshing tone! She bought me some really cute stitch markers too, can u see the cute bunny ??? I was very surprised that stitch markers can be done in this way as compared to those beads stitch markers that we commonly see! Oh! she bought me a sweet wedding dairy too!

My buddy, Jollin bought me the Knitting Lingerie Style that I am longing for, 2 hanks of Knit Picks Gossamer yarns and she knitted a hairband for me..see the Rockin Gal wearing it? hehe...

I was jumping on my bed when I saw these...everyone was talking abt it and I always pretended that I am not interested in order to stop myself from buying because this yarn is not cheap...This is really a very pleasant surprise to me and now I have 6 balls of them..I love them so much that i just cant stop touching them! Thanks dear.

Another of my buddy, Yun knitted a Showfake Bear, a Melody pin cushion and a LadyE style bag for me, now I understand why Jollin said I will definitely be touched when I open up the present!Handmade is priceless...I was really touched and I love them very much! She bought me 4 balls of Cascade Sock yarns in purple and verigated peachy pink and a very sweet light green eyeshadow too!

These 6 balls of Jaegar Celeste Tape Yarns is from Sally,The yarns in light green are so sweet..I love them too.

Stay Silent

Yesterday we had Portluck family dinner at our place, around 30+ people, overall it was fun, except when we show some of them our wedding photos shoot by Ric, the PC is in our room, while watching the slide, this happen:

Aunty A : She(refer to me) look better with long wedding gown, look slimmer.
Aunty B : She is ok, not that fat.
Aunty A : She is fat lah!
Aunty B : No la, she is ok, not fat lah!
Aunty A : She is lah, u see...(and she point her finger at me...)!!!

and this conversation happened when so many pple watching the slide, and Aunty A say this infront of me... It was pretty hurt, I know I am not that slim, but, CANT YOU DONT SAY THAT INFRONT OF ME???!!!

I dont know how to react, I only act blur and stay silent...

and the best is, this Aunty A is the one ask me to knit a bolero for her!!!

Busy n Busier

FINALLY I cast off the scaft. It turn out to be the "feel" I want, lovely.

I have been good, staying cool and trying hard to focus picking up 500+ sts for the Jo Shape Bolero ribbing, it is really not easy..I am dead slow with ribbing, especially k2p2 on 500+ sts per row...zzz..

I am back with crochet, drooling on at crochet bolero that I dint know I have the patt in my collection! Stay tune and I will update soon.

Meanwhile, I shall try to control not to Casting On new project, as wedding is coming real soon, I need to start prepare for some accessories, corsage for the sister gang and, of cos, the silk yarn from Colourmart for the Hanami stole for my wedding~

Our Wedding Photo Shoot

Last Friday was our Wedding Photo Shoot. We went to JB at 0930hrs in the morning but the make up took too long to complete. The weather was not good and we started the shoot indoor at 12noon, then followed by outdoor at 1700hrs and finish at 1830hrs.

Overall I am still happy with results. Ric, my bil went with us and he manage to shoot 100+ photos for us too, here are some sneak previews. Looking at all the lovely photos make all the long hours worth it.

Our First Meet

Yesterday after work, I rushed down to China Town, waiting at the MRT control station expecting to meet Rain and Mira.

I brought these 2 little sweet girls to our LYS Golden Dragon but we came out empty-handed, then we proceeded to Sportlight and Jollin joined us there for dinner at Mos Burger too...

It has been awhile since I stepped into Sportlight and I realised that they have new ranges of yarns and I came home with these 9 balls of Panda wool+acrylic yarns,$2 for 50g/125m, what more to ask for?

Over the 3 hours, we enjoyed our time together and laughted about the Barbarian way of eating the chicken ha ha...thank you for the lovely evening :)

Rusted Root

I cast on this Rusted Root last Dec (did i just say Last Dec?? yes hehe) and finally I got it done.

This is the longest time I took to knit a top, when I was so excited to cast on, I could not decide on the colours and the type of yarns to use. I tried 5 ply China cotton in dirty yellow and Miami Cotton in olive green, and I just couldn't get the tension/gauge right!

I finally settled with Catania cotton in brick orange, and this is not the end of the story yet, I re-did twice because when I reached the arm, I realise the chest area is too small(30"), although I am making for bust size 36"-39"!!! This is really driving me nutz and I tell myself..dont give up...Seeing my buddies Jollin and Ziyun's rusted root FO does motivate me to pick up my rusted root from the basket again.

So, here I proudly present to you, my version of Rusted Root after so many trials.

Patt - Rusted Root by zephyrstyle
Yarn - 5.5 x 50g/125m Catania 100% Cotton
Needle - Inox 3.75mm/3.5mm

Weekend

So fast the weekend has passed.

I was working full day yesterday, nothing much I can plan for the weekend, but still manage to get something done.

Friday after work, firstly was the wallet, this Gucci wallet was a gift from DD for valentine day, and I notice the the border faded in June, after 4 mths??? so I decided to bring it back to the boutique. In the end they agreed to repaint the border for me, well, at least they do something abt it, if not, dont think I will buy any product from there anymore.

Then we were running around to get DD's photo-shoot shirt, at first we went to Raoul at Suntec, no more DD's size, Paragon outlet no stock too, luckily we found one pce at Caltex house outlet, the staff was very helpful, they actually waited for us to collect the shirt although they were already closed.

My Friday ended with a nice dinner at Crystal Jade at Takashimaya and bean curd on the way home...

Saturday and Sunday nothing much...Knitting, movie and tv at home...
Oh the lovely H&M eyes shadow make-up kit all the way from Oslo definitely brighten up my weekend.

Progress

I have not been posting much on knitting stuff.

Too much on hand now and I have to slow down on knitting and start focus to prepare for the big day in Nov.
The RR, finally going to be completed left with sleeve/ colar ribbing, here how it look.

At the same time, I CO a scaft from IK Summer 2007 too, it was a replacement of a scaft size of LadyE as my LadyE dont really turn up to be what i want.

I am trying hard to stay focus to finish my wips , till then, no more new CO for this year.

Hmm.. can tahan? let see...
